About our college
St. Joseph College is run by Dnyandeep Mandal, Uttar Vasai. It has been established on 25th August, 1995 with an aim of providing education to students in the vicinity, especially those who are economically challenged. Affiliated to the University of Mumbai, St Joseph College runs courses at the graduate as well as post-graduate level: both aided as well as self-financed. The campus occupies 3.5 acres and has an excellent infrastructure for students to not only complete their degree but also hone their life skills.

Dnyandeep Mandal, established in 1995, stands as a beacon of commitment to quality and inclusive education. Founded by dedicated members from the working-class community, our trust has grown steadily with a clear vision — “Education for All.”
Today, the Mandal proudly manages a Degree College and Junior College, and offers 10 diverse academic courses that cater to the evolving educational needs of our students. What makes our institution unique is our steadfast belief that education should never be commercialized. We do not depend on student donations or external funding, but focus instead on creating opportunities for learners from every social and economic background.

It is my profound honour to lead Dnyandeep Mandal’s St. Joseph College of Arts & Commerce—an institution shaping the future of rural and semi-urban youth through accessible, character-building and academically excellent higher education. As a member of the Physics faculty, I firmly believe that education, much like scientific inquiry, must ignite curiosity, encourage integrity, cultivate critical thinking, and inspire lifelong learning. “Education becomes transformational when knowledge awakens curiosity and curiosity leads to character.”
